Lost on Campus

/ Friday, 21 February 2014 /
"Lost on Campus" is the name of app that is pretty nifty to have to find buildings, study areas, food places and all that in a particular university in Melbourne. I downloaded it yesterday to help me get to the sessions for the Academic Advice Day. (No, I did not mean to sound like I was advertising.)

Although at noon, after eating my lunch, I decided to just skip the rest of the sessions and just find my way around without using the app. I intended to go back to my place at some point but I ended up going the wrong way and basically skirted the whole perimeter of our campus.

It was nothing short of a well-spent afternoon though.

The colleges were remarkable. They all seemed like old European buildings. This is Queen's College. I perfectly understand now why their accommodation is so expensive. There was actually one that looked as if it was taken straight from Hogwarts.

This is the entry, I think, to a church within the premises of Trinity College. From that moment on, I knew that I had once again fallen in love with doors which have their certain ambience.

I have no idea what this building is. It is somewhere inside the campus already so I am guessing it is not a college. If it is actually for lectures, that will be so neat.

The last cool thing I stumbled upon was this mural. The person who decided to park his bike here is just plain awesome for making this photo look better. I did not get to show the columns of this building in the photo but it was really an interesting juxtaposition because the columns themselves looked medieval.

In the end, I might indeed like this university's surroundings more than I thought I would and hopefully, after time, each place will bear greater meaning to me.
